Consultant Spotlight Q&A with Lynette Robb
We are introducing a Consultant Spotlight Q&A Series that highlights our consultants across each of the three divisions within the Compass Associates brand. The third article of this series will be introducing Lynette Robb from the Specialist Care division.
What is your role and how long have you worked at Compass Associates?
I’m a Managing Consultant in Manchester’s Specialist Services Division and joined Compass Associates 5 years ago. I head up the AHP & Psychiatry Division in the North and Midlands, covering specialist services for adults and children with mental health conditions, learning disabilities, autism and complex needs.
What markets do you cover?
I specialise in leadership-level roles such as Clinical/Medical Directors, Regional Leads, Heads of Clinical Services, Heads of Therapy, Consultant Psychiatrists and Lead Therapists.
Advice for job seekers
Put as much information as possible on your CV as this is the first thing a potential employer will see about you – anything from client groups you work with, CPD completed, service development involvement and the number of people you line manage/provide clinical supervision for. Also, make the most of every conversation/interview you have, as you never know what opportunities will come up in future!
Current changes you foresee within the sector?
The pause in non-urgent NHS services during COVID has meant that the already long waiting lists, got even longer. This has had a knock-on effect for the independent sector as there have been more and more NHS contracts and beds, moving across to the private sector. In addition to this, we’ve seen a large increase in the number of companies ng digital mental health/virtual therapy and psychological services.
Career highlight at Compass Associates
It has to be winning the company-wide Employee of the Quarter award and Manchester the Manchester Sales Shield, in the same quarter – a nice way to end the last financial year!
A bit about you outside of work
I love trying out new restaurants/cuisines and we’re spoilt for choice in Manchester city centre! I’m a big fan of musical theatre and live music so go to as many of these as possible. I’m also obsessed with my 1-year-old puppy, Teddy, who I love taking on days out!
