Every year, the Compass Associates team chooses to support a charity around Christmas time. This year, Cash for Kids was chosen as the charity of choice for the team to support by taking part in their Mission Christmas campaign.

What is Cash for Kids Mission Christmas?

This campaign has been created to support disadvantaged children at Christmas time. They do this by ensuring that they receive a present under the tree on Christmas Day. To ensure that this is achieved, Cash for Kids have asked for donations of a variety of different toys for all different ages.

Therefore, Compass has asked all employees to take part by bringing in a toy each that we will then donate to one of the Cash for Kids drop off points.

The Portsmouth team have set up a fun afternoon of games and a Christmas grotto for the team to have great fun whilst supporting a fantastic cause. Our Manchester office is also taking part in this by volunteering at their local Cash for Kids depot to help categorise all gifts received and have been fundraising for the charity.

Community & Wellbeing , Jodie Kemp comments on the Portsmouth HQ charity day:

“This year we supported Mission Christmas to provide toys and gifts for local children who may otherwise not have received anything on Christmas Day, and I am overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness of everyone at Compass HQ!

The amount of toys we collected was absolutely incredible! We had a fun filled day, with special guests Santa and his Elves, and the  drinks and games in the afternoon also saw us raise an amazing £190 towards this great cause! Thank you to everyone for making it such a special day!”

Laura Bloomfield, who manages the Manchester office fundraising initiative comments on the Manchester Office’s charity day:

“On Friday (10^th December), Compass Associates’ Manchester Office went to the Mission Christmas HQ as part of their latest Charity Day! We raised just over £700 which means that 23 children will wake up to a present on Christmas morning who otherwise would have gone without!

Mission Christmas is an event organised by Cash for Kids which supports children and young people affected by poverty, abuse, neglect, life-limiting illness and those who have additional needs. Mission Christmas is their biggest event of the year and in 2020, the charity raised over £19.2 million across the UK supporting a total of 396,639 children!

This is the third consecutive year that the Manchester Office have raised funds for this fantastic cause, with the team taking part by packing presents and loading vans for deliveries. The whole team really enjoyed it and we had such a fantastic day!”
