We are introducing a Consultant Spotlight Q&A Series that highlights our consultants across each of the three divisions within the Compass Associates brand. The sixth article in this series will be introducing Franklin Brown from the Specialist Care division.  

What is your role and how long have you worked at Compass?

I joined Compass Associates as a Recruitment Consultant just over 18 months ago from an NHS administration background. During that time, I have progressed to Managing Consultant within the Specialist Care Division.

As Managing Consultant, I now directly oversee 2 consultants, both working within their specialist markets of Adult Social Care management and Clinical positions across specialist services.

What markets do you cover?

I work on Middle to Senior Management positions across Mental Health, Complex Care, Neurological, AHP, Substance Misuse Clinics, CAMHS & Eating Disorder settings. I support with recruitment for roles ranging from Quality Manager, Business Development Manager, Operations Director/Manager, Ward Manager, Director of Clinical Services, Head of Nursing, Deputy and Hospital Director positions.

Advice for job seekers

My advice for job seekers is to be proactive and quick – the hottest opportunities come and go in a heartbeat and speed is the key to getting in on the greatest chances.

Current changes you foresee within the sector?

Now in the post-pandemic era, we are seeing remote roles becoming sparser again. This is due to the necessity for presence in services which has also seen providers’ head offices growing in headcount as well.  The Complex Care/Community care is currently a growing sector and Tracheostomy/Ventilation trained nurses in the community are highly sought after.

Career highlight within Compass

My highlight is being promoted to Managing Consultant due to recognition of my hard work in the time I’ve been at Compass Associates.

A bit about you outside of work

I’m an avid chef and even started my own cooking Instagram page once. I’m also a huge sports fan and player – regularly playing football (I like to joke I could have become a pro if it wasn’t for my knee injury!), golf, darts, table tennis, and when I’m not annoyed at losing table tennis on my lunches, I go to Fratton Park to make sure I’m let down on the weekend too!
