Consultant Q&A with Jon Mondey
Our Consultant Spotlight Q&A Series highlights our consultants across each of the three divisions within the Compass Associates brand. The latest article in this series introduces Jon Mondey from the Healthcare division.
What is your role and how long have you worked at Compass Associates?
I am a Divisional Manager here at Compass Associates, leading a team of 3 consultants within the Healthcare Division. I joined the company in 2018, and have just celebrated my 5 year anniversary.
What markets do you cover?
My role specialises in the world of diagnostics. Positions vary from senior clinical personnel to mid-management roles. Clinical roles include but are not limited to Radiographers, Mammographers, Sonographers, Echocardiographers and Physiologists.
Advice for job seekers
The market is overwhelmed with demand for diagnostic personnel. Because of this, all positions will be very similar in job title/ role, however each organisation will have their own vision and values. Pick the organisation whose vision and values resonate with you, and if you are not sure – reach out to us and we can guide you through the process.
Clients are more focused on the individual. What you can bring to the organisation that is different to others will be paramount to your success. Make sure your personality shines through at the interview stage!
Current changes you foresee within the sector?
Due to the backlog of NHS waiting lists, we are seeing a lot of Community Diagnostic Centres popping up throughout the UK. I can’t see this stopping due to the demand, so it is a great time for any NHS employees looking to transition into the Private Healthcare sector.
More clients are changing the long day structure to a 5 day working week, I believe this will continue. Clients are improving the training and development of their employees with the aim of their team being cross – sectional, to ensure patient demands are met.
Career highlight within Compass
My standout achievement personally would have been winning one of our Core Values for Professional Development in 2022. It is great to be recognised for your efforts and to be rewarded for it. Also, my career progression – from a Trainee Recruitment Consultant to a Divisional Manager within a very successful team is something I am very proud of.
A bit about you outside of work
Everything I do, I do for my family, they are my motivators. It’s important for me to be able to spend time with them – I have a 10 year old daughter and 3 year old son. I enjoy watching and playing football – although I am Portsmouth born and bred, I am a proud Arsenal fan, which I inherited from my family, and on the odd occasion I get the opportunity to go and see them play.
