Our Consultant Spotlight Q&A Series highlights our consultants across each of the three divisions within the Compass Associates brand. The latest article in this series introduces Josh Cooper from the Healthcare division.

What is your role and how long have you worked at Compass?

I am a Senior Recruitment Consultant having joined Compass Associates in February 2022. I lead on our GP desk with a focus on senior appointments such as Medical Directors, Clinical Directors and Consultants.

What markets do you cover?

I cover the Primary Care space recruiting into areas such as General Practice, Digital Health, Health and Justice and Forensic Services.

What advice would you give to job seekers?

Find a consultant that understands the space and build a rapport with them. Having an expert on your side can make a huge difference to your search and can guide and advise you on how to approach certain challenges. Keep regular communication and ask questions if there are areas you are unsure about.

Current changes you foresee within the sector?

As we start to move into a more collaborative approach with our healthcare services; we are starting to see a shift from traditional GP partnerships into larger federations. This will open a number of new senior GP positions such as Lead and Director level appointments.

Outside of work, I like to keep myself fit, travel, write music and enjoy spending time with family and friends.
