Remit:

To act as the Head of nursing/clinical nurse manager for a profound Cosmetic clinic based in Manchester, providing day to day clinical support and guidance to all Nursing staff and Allied Health Professionals when needed. To lead through example and foster a clinical culture of best standards and current practice.

Job Summary:

  • To lead and co-ordinate a range of activities that promote excellence in Nursing practice through utilisation of evidence and research
  • To contribute to the formulation, implementation and evaluation of the Nursing and Clinical Strategy
  • Act as Nursing Lead for all clinical staff
  • To provide national Nursing professional leadership to ensure implementation of the Quality Strategies
  • Work in collaboration with colleagues from other organisations to develop effective networks
  • To provide Nursing Clinical Management presence for all Clinics and Hospital Sites as needed
  • To co-ordinate recruitment retention and redesign activities to maximise utilisation of skills and knowledge and reduce vacancies and the use of temporary staff
  • To deputise in the absence of the NCSM
  • To work with all managers, clinical leads and services to embed the quality agenda throughout the organisation.
  • To coordinate the compilation of the necessary evidence that demonstrates improvements in clinical care and clinical outcomes, learning from clinical risk matters and positive service changes, to ensure the organisation is compliant with clinical KPIs and the standards set by the Care Quality Commission, and other relevant regulatory bodies

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Clinical / Professional

  • Lead and coordinate the identification and formulation of evidence-based nursing

practice and guidelines

  • Establish and develop systems for the evaluation and dissemination of research and evidence in nursing practice
  • Develop opportunities for individuals and teams to network and share excellence in practice
  • Establish systems that assure accurate defensible patient focussed nursing documentation and act as lead for implementation
  • Contribute to support Integrated Governance programmes as appropriate
  • Promote a culture of dignity and respect for patients and their relatives / carers.
  • To support the Clinical Teams in the implementation of Quality Markers and Quality Standards
  • To develop reports that will feed into the process of the production and publication of Quality Accounts
  • To prepare and contribute to the annual Quality Account which will detail the quality of the Nursing services provided
  • Ensure Nursing services adhere to national legislation such as the Health and Social Care Act and the Health and Safety at Work Act and action where standards are not in place
  • To set Nurse clinic specific standards and lead teams in the auditing of said standards

Management

  • Provide visible and accessible site by site Nursing leadership creating a climate where individuals understand their roles and responsibilities and people are empowered to be effective in their role.
  • Establish and maintain a Clinical Nursing Management presence to clinical sites
  • Establish systems and processes that assure verification of registration
  • Provide inspirational, dynamic professional management, leadership, supervision and an overseeing role to Nursing Team including, workforce redesign, recruitment, training and development, performance, grievance and disciplinary cases
  • Provide expert professional Nursing advice, support, challenge, scrutiny and decision-making as required or where necessary to Nurses, Clinic Managers and all relevant staff groups
  • Promote a culture where individuals and teams are encouraged to develop personal and professional knowledge and skills
