Lancashire’s leading children’s charity is looking to hire a Registered Childrens Nurse to head up its team in the community.

The Chorley based hospice (rated Outstanding) supports babies, children and young people with complex needs both on site and in the community, offering day care, respite stays, end of life care, holidays and support transitioning back into the community.

Their community team works in partnership with local NHS trusts and hospitals to ensure that families have access to the crucial support they need at home.

You will also work closely with hospital NICU and PICU departments to support families once they leave hospital.

The Role:

This is a leadership role encompasses people management, operational and clinical responsibilities.

The Community Team Leader is responsible for the operational management of the charity’s community-based offering.

You will support your team of nurses by providing guidance, support and clinical leadership. You will act as a positive role model for all members of staff using evidence based care and practice.

You will provide specialist palliative care to children in their own homes.

It will be your responsibility to implement an effective rota to meet the needs of the organisation – ensuring an effective skill mix.

You will meet with your team regularly to monitor their performance, offer support and guidance and to act as clinical lead. You will also delegate tasks and caseload.

Requirements:

  • Registered Childrens Nurse
  • Experienced in palliative care
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Passionate about leadership
  • Experienced in leading a team
  • Able to work community based in the Lancashire area
