This leading private clinic is based in Oxford and are specialist in the Ophthalmic field. We are looking for an experienced nurse to join their team and further develop their skills in Ophthalmology. Ophthalmic experience would be preferred, however we can offer full training for any applicants with prior scrub or surgical experience.

The Role

To provide a competent Nurse provision in the Theatre department. We are looking for a new Nurse / Practitioner to join the Oxford site. This will be 40 hours over a 4 or 5 day working week. In the future, this may include weekends on a rota basis, however at the moment it is Monday – Friday only.

Scrub Nurses /Practitioners are an integral part of the theatre teams and will undertake a variety of duties. You’ll be setting the theatre up ready to accommodate patients. We can typically see 18-22 patients a day in our high-volume cataract surgery provision, so you’ll thrive working in an efficient and fast paced environment.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Previous theatre experience would be beneficial. Ophthalmic scrub experience is preferred but not essential as full training is available for suitably qualified RGNs / ODP’s with at least 1 years post qualification clinical experience in a secondary care setting or similar.
  • Evidence of relevant professional development, clinically, preferably evidenced by certification RN with valid NMC Registration / ODP with valid HCPC Registration
  • Up-to-date knowledge in area of practice.
  • Proficient in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Passion for delivering first- rate patient safety and care
