Compass Associates are proud to be working with one of the UK’s largest supplier of NHS Commissioned Services within Health and Social care to recruit for a Senior Tenders Manager to fit within their Bids and Tenders Team.

This position is responsible for the leadership and for a few members of the team and will be essential in ensuring their excellent track record of service delivery is recognised and lauded by authorities and commissioners. As an experienced Bid and Tenders professional within a relevant sector, you will be expected to both win new and retain contracts/tenders with local authorities.

The organisation prides themselves on their flexible working approach, managing to maintain their ability to come into their regional offices when necessary, whilst retaining home working, which they have successfully rolled out through the pandemic and will continue.

Location:

The position is mainly home based, with minimal commuting required to meetings or Head Office in either London or other suitable offices across the country.

Package:

Salary is up to £53,000 p/a.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research, gather evidence, and create persuasive content for tender responses based on commissioner requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Tenders Director to review and finalize tender submissions, ensuring compliance with requirements.
  • Develop tender responses and presentations to secure contracts, preferred provider status, and framework opportunities.
  • Conduct thorough research and analyse documents to support the creation of compliant and winning bids.
  • Assist in identifying and evaluating contract opportunities to determine bid/no-bid decisions with the Tenders Director.
  • Gather and compile information from relevant departments (Operations, Sales, and support functions).

Requirements:

  • Evidence of operational and business leadership skills in the care sector
  • Strong commercial and business acumen desirable
  • Experience of quality assurance monitoring through excellent business writing skills
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience within BD that has involved bid/tender writing
  • Excellent communication skills both written and orally
  • Logical and organised approach to working with excellent critical thinking
  • You must have excellent understanding of tenders as well as bid writing
  • Good commercial awareness is essential
  • You must be able to manage a small team of Bid Writers
